About
Mindful EcotherapyMindfulness is a meditative technique that originated with Buddhist monks. Although it originated with Buddhism, it is not strictly a religious practice. Elements of Mindfulness can be found in most of the world's religions. In recent years, mental health professionals have studied this technique as a means of relieving stress and achieving emotional wellbeing. A large body of research has also demonstrated the healing power of nature. Ecotherapy is the practice of using nature to facilitate emotional and mental health. Mindful Ecotherapy combines Mindfulness and Ecotherapy in a program to help students and practitioners achieve a less stressful and happier lifestyle. The Mindful Ecotherapy Organization was created to establish a coherent therapeutic framework for the practice of Mindful Ecotherapy, and to create workshops, therapy sessions, and other programs to facilitate positive changes in individuals and families in our community and in the world at large. About the Mindful Ecotherapy Home Study Course In 2009 the Mindful Ecotherapy Organization began offering outdoor seminars in Mindful Ecotherapy. This eight week series combines elements of Mindfulness and Ecotherapy. We are now offering this series in an online home study format. The online format includes video instruction, audio files for download, and a pdf copy of the Mindful Ecotherapy Handbook. Additionally, there are weekly online chat sessions on Mindful Ecotherapy, and email support for students with questions. There is also a Facebook discussion group on Mindful Ecotherapy.
