Mindful Ecotherapy Workshops at the Glendale Outdoor Leadership School (GOLS) in Glendale SC

This is an eight-week program. Each session is approximately ninety minutes long, and will meet at the Glendale Outdoor Leadership School in Glendale, South Carolina (click here for directions to GOLS).

These workshops are scheduled for Saturdays from 9 a.m. to approximately 10:30 a.m. on the Lawson's Fork Creek Trail at the Glendale Outdoor Leadership School.
The workshops will take place rain or shine. In case of inclement weather, the workshops are held in picnic shelter on the trail, just past the bridge.

The workshops are presented on a rotating basis, and each workshop is self-contained, so you may start the series at any time.

We will meet at the head of the trail, which is in the parking lot near the Glendale Post Office. Look for the red brick Wofford Building (see picture below) and the split rail fence near Lawson's Fork Creek. Since this is an outdoor workshop, please dress accordingly. You may also wish to bring a blanket and a seat cushion.

Intro to Mindful Ecotherapy

Mindfulness is a meditative technique that originated with Buddhist monks. In recent years, mental health professionals have studied this technique as a means of relieving stress and achieving emotional wellbeing.
A large body of research has also demonstrated the healing power of nature. Ecotherapy is the practice of using nature to facilitate emotional and mental health.
Mindful Ecotherapy combines Mindfulness and Ecotherapy in a program to help students and practitioners achieve a less stressful and happier lifestyle. In this workshop, Introduction to Mindful Ecotherapy, we'll cover the basics of what Mindful Ecotherapy is, how it works, and how to do it.
