Monday, September 20, 2010 - 9 a.m. - 4 p.m.
REGISTRATION RATE REDUCED! SEE BELOW!
Do you enjoy nature? Have you ever been camping, hiking or canoeing? Do
you enjoy hunting and fishing? If so, you are probably already aware of
nature's power to relax and heal. A large and growing body of research
demonstrates that nature is good for us, not only physically, but
mentally as well.
Mindfulness is a technique that originated with Buddhist monks. The
benefits of Mindfulness as a tool for stress reduction and
self-improvement have also been researched.
Mindful Ecotherapy (ME) is a blending of Mindfulness and Ecotherapy. ME
uses nature to facilitate Mindful Awareness.
ME is used as a framework for helping individuals and families to find
deeper connections in their own lives, and to give more meaning and
enjoyment to the activities of daily living.
Topics covered in this six-hour CEU course include:
-
Radical Acceptance
-
Wise Mind
-
Letting Go
-
Living in True Self
-

-

-

Mountain Light
Sanctuary

|
Hidden deep in a secluded mountain cove in
the Pisgah National Forest, 35 minutes north of Asheville,
Mountain Light Sanctuary is a mini Shangri-La nestled in the
world of nature. Bordered by two cascading creeks and ringed by
the highest mountains in the eastern USA, It's energy and
ambiance are purely magical.
The Sanctuary is a gateway between the human world of "busy" and
"doing" and the natural world of harmony and "being." It is a
departure point for exploring hundreds of miles of trails
meandering through the half million acres of National Forest, or
inner explorations from your own special spot under an ancient
hemlock, on a mossy rock amid the ferns, or in a secluded grotto
beside the creek.
The Continuing Education Seminar,
Mindful Ecotherapy in Clinical Practice, will be held at the
Mountain Light Sanctuary from 9 a.m. to 4 p.m. A light lunch
will be provided.
Join us as we explore the clinical uses of Mindful Ecotherapy in
the beautiful outdoor setting of Mountain Light Sanctuary!
We will all meet nearby and drive to the Sanctuary together.
Meeting location will be arranged once all participants have
been registered. Mountain Light Sanctuary is approximately 35
miles north of Asheville, bordering on the Pisgah Forest.
