Mindful Ecotherapy Weekend 2011 at The Mountain
Saturday and Sunday, April 3-4, 2010
The Mountain in Highlands, North Carolina (click here for directions) is an engagement center that provokes insight, inciting humane, sustainable social change. Through its programs and as a host site for groups, The Mountain fosters leadership, transformation, meaningful action and pluralism.
Join us for the first weekend of Spring 2010 for a Mindful Ecotherapy Retreat! The Mountain is known throughout the Southeast for its tranquil and serene settings and its rustic, yet comfortable, accommodations. You may register below for this April 3-4 2010 weekend.

1:30 p.m. - 3 p.m. Mindfulness 101
What is Mindfulness? Why is it important? Second Order Change and shifting to a new paradigm of living. Mindful Awareness: What it is, and how to get it.
3 p.m. - 3:15 p.m. Break
3:15 p.m. - 4:45 p.m. Living in True Self
What is your True Self? How do you get in touch with it, and why? Is it really possible to live the life you were meant to live? How do you 'get out of your own way' and live your true purpose in life?
4:45 p.m. - 6 p.m. Mind/Body Awareness
Are Minds and Bodies really separate things? How do I learn to be comfortable in my own skin? How can I pay more attention to my own body and what it's trying to tell me?
6 p.m. - 7 p.m. Dinner
7:30 p.m. - Until Drum Circle
Drumming around the fire as a means of achieving Mind/Body connection and Mindful Awareness

Personal Time for meditation, relaxation and practicing Mindfulness - optional Mindful Yoga exercise (location to be determined)
9 a.m. - 10: a.m. Reconnecting with Nature
What is Connection and why is it important? Nature as Metaphor, Nature as Teacher, Nature as Nurture.
10 a.m. - 10:30 a.m. Mindful Walking
A Mindful Walking exercise on the grounds of The Mountain
10:30 a.m. -10:45 a.m. Break
10:45 a.m. - 12 p.m. Nature as Healer
Nature as Healer. How to tap into the healing power of nature by reconnecting to our source and to our True Selves. Making room for nature in our daily lives, in our communities, and in the world as a whole.
12 p.m. - 1 p.m. Lunch, Checkout
1:30 p.m. - 2:30 p.m. Final Thoughts
Group chat about questions, insights, and experiences for the Retreat.
